An awareness event was held at Powys County Hall to highlight epilepsy as part of a national campaign.
The new Chairman of Powys County Council Cllr Barry Thomas, welcomed representatives from Epilepsy Wales who provided information and advice to visitors and staff at County Hall during National Epilepsy Week.
“We were delighted to accept Powys County Council invitation to join them during such an important week for us.” said Lesley Morris of Epilepsy Wales. “With epilepsy affecting more than 23,000 people in Wales, that’s over 1,000 in Powys, it was important that we raise the awareness, understanding and seriousness of this common neurological condition.”
Cllr Thomas, said: “There are thousands of people across Wales that are affected by epilepsy and we are pleased to be able help support the organisation during National Epilepsy Week.”
