Once again, the Gwent Metal Detecting Club came up with a pot of gold – certainly for Epilepsy Wales. At a recent Fund Raising Rally they raised another staggering £300 Young Kiera, who has epilepsy herself and was the reason the Group awarded the Rally Day to Epilepsy Wales, together with her family and members of the Gwent Detecting Club made the presentation to Epilepsy Wales’ Lesley Morris at their monthly meeting at the RAFA Club in Cwmbran.
The GDC meet the 1st Tuesday of every month, new members are always welcome. They hold a number of Charity Rallies throughout the year, all over South Wales. They are always looking for new land to search – if you have about 30-40 acres, or know a friendly farmer/land owner who would be willing to let the members onto their land, please do get in touch with the Club. No damage is done to the land – the ground is carefully dug and replaced – and there is a good chance that you may be able to nominate the charity to whom the rally entrance fees would be donated.
